Portrait Photography

I used the rule of thirds here, Ralton and the hallway take up two-third of the picture while the wall Ralton is leaning on takes up one third.

In this picture, I got Ralton to jump over the railing of the staircase (from the second step, he wasn't hurt). This picture shows a shallow depth of field with Ralton being the main focus.

I used shallow depth of field here once again, with Ralton being the main focus, and the sky being a bit in focus, with the backstop out of focus.

I believe this was the best picture I took, the sun was directly behind Ralton, making a kind of glow around his body, while the portable was kind of blurred. Depth of field is used here as well.

This picture didn't really show shallow depth of field but it kind of used the rule of thirds. I liked this picture so I decided to include it in the final presentation.

Andy Warhol Pop-Art Assignment

This is a combination of Christian Bale and Henry Cavill combined. I took Henry Cavill's right eye, lips and left ear. And the I used the poster edges filter and finally put four different gradient backgrounds and put it together.

Ergonomics and Internet Safety

Ergonomics as it relates to computer use

Firstly, before even relating ergonomics to computer use, let us see what ergonomics means:

Ergonomics science is the analysis of effects of environment on user's body and mental health and understanding how to shape environment to be more useful for users body.

It is very important to remember this when in Communications Technology because we are using computers through out the whole class time. Also note that the definition says,"...understanding how to shape environment to be more useful for users body." It says shaping the environment for our use, not shaping our body for the environment. That means, for example, having a ergonomic user interface so that all the items from the computer chair to the computer mouse are specifically designed for the user. It can also mean proper posture when you are working etc. Here are some example of what NOT to do ergonomically when working with a computer.

Don't bend your back for long periods of time

Bending over for long periods to see your computer screen properly is really bad for your back. In the long term, your stature may be improper and this can lead to a lot of pain once you are older.

Don't use your computer in a low-lit area

This can cause visual discomfort, headaches and vision challenges. Blurred vision can also occur, and although this may be temporary for a while, it may affect your eyesight permanently in the long run.

Don't sit in an uncomfortable position

This goes back to making your technology suitable to you and not suiting yourself for your technology. It's just plain annoying to sit in a position that's uncomfortable, and you'll get more tired much more faster. Not recommended at all if you're doing work that's going to take a long time.

Don't drink or eat over your computer

This is common sense. Don't do it. Keep it at the dinner table. Don't drink your $2.00 drink and mess up your $500 device. Look at this fool.

Keep your workplace cluster free

Take two minutes to clear your workplace and keyboard before you begin. It's a nuisance reaching over something lying on your keyboard to press one key. It leads to hand and wrist pain.

Internet Safety

The internet is a dangerous place! Take these with you!

1) Keep your personal information to yourself: Personal information such as address, phone number home school shouldn't be posted on sites that look untrustworthy or on public chat rooms.

2) Passwords:  Keep your passwords to yourself, don't share them with your friends best friends, cousins, brothers or pets. It might be alright to share them with your parents though. But I know you won't do that.

3) Frauds and Scams: If you get an email saying you've won a large sum of money, use your head, don't open it. Emails like this can be full of Trojans and other viruses and quite possibly convincing-but-not-true messages.

4) Don't send your picture to anyone: Your BFF might become your worst enemy and before you know it, "that" picture of you is everywhere on the internet.

5) Looking for websites: Even if you've never used the internet before, I hope you know how to read, if the website has a shady name like "thisisnotmalware.com", don't go on it ladies and gentlemen.

These were just some tips for internet safety, but there are a lot of more dangers there in the world of Internet. Best tip is to use your common sense and steer clear of anything slightly suspicious.
